Vet Student Saves Special Kitten and Brought Her Back From the Brink, Now Months Later…

A tiny motherless kitten was found outside all by herself. She was born a bit different, but nothing can stop her from loving life.

Meet little Smush!

Smush was taken to the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine after she was found all alone, without a mother in sight. This ginger fur ball was born with a cleft palate and some congenital conditions, but in her own mind, she’s just like any other kitten.

She had an upper respiratory infection, a severe case of ringworm, and wasn’t eating on her own. A vet student offered to look after her as she would need round-the-clock care to survive. Then a vet student offered to help, and took her home.

The kitten’s new foster mom got up in the middle of the night to syrynge feed her little baby. She also had to bathe the kitty quite often to help her fight the ringworm. The little one never complained and was quite a trooper!

After a while, the little girl started to thrive. Then another fosterer took her in and continued to socialize the kitten.

After a couple of months, the kitten made a 100 percent recovery. What she needed next was something very important – a new forever home. Then she met Shannon and they both fell in love with each other.

Now, the fur ball is loving her new life with her big family of two loving humans, three dogs, three other cats and a hedgehog.

She may look different from other cats, but there’s no doubt she’s absolutely purrfect.
